Lead On, The University of Oklahoma's Campaign for the Future

Once in a generation, a university reaches a pivotal point when aspiration, purpose and opportunity converge. When a tradition of excellence, exceptional people and vision fuse to create an extraordinary chance to shape the future. For the University of Oklahoma and the OU Family that time is now. This is our moment to Lead On.

Our goal is to raise $2 billion to create the OU of the future. This campaign is about seizing unparalleled opportunity to build on the fundamental tradition of OU – constantly striving to reach new heights of success. It is about recognizing the possibilities and doing all we can to seize them. In this way, Lead On will be a living testament to the transformative legacy we have inherited from the generations of leaders and dreamers who have shaped the University of Oklahoma.

Quotes Section

During my time at OU, I benefited from scholarships made possible by donations. I want to pass that benefit on to other Sooners. As it says in Luke 6:38 "Give, and it shall be given unto you; a good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again."
- Strethen T., Class of '07
Norman has become one of the homes that has a special place in my heart. I support OU Daily because it is one of the most robust news sources in the state. I believe the hard work of training emergent journalism professionals in community coverage is critical to democracy and it is apparent to me the Daily is doing that hard work every day.
- Shai F., class of '12, class of '18
"The University of Oklahoma is about something bigger than yourself. We have a duty to give back and ensure that future leaders have the foundation to keep the Sooner way moving forward."
- Clarence C., Class of 2011

"As the oldest of 8 kids, my parents didn't have the resources to send us to college or pay our living expenses after we graduated from high school. My dad was diagnosed with a terminal illness and had to go on disability the month I started at OU.

Through a variety of scholarships from the state of Oklahoma, OU, and the generosity of private donors, I was able to access seven years of education and pay for my books as well as room and board each year.

Military obligations took me out of Oklahoma after I completed my two degrees. My loyalty and gratitude to the institution that allowed me to get these degrees continues to this day, even though I left Oklahoma over 25 years ago. I express my thanks by giving every year to the law school and OU at large."

- Michelle M., Class of '94, Class of '97
"I donate to OU's Henderson Scholars Program every year because I want to support OU's efforts to recruit and educate scholars from diverse backgrounds."
- Henry B., Class of '85
"Our passion for the University of Oklahoma runs deep. We enjoy paying it forward and are happy to continuously help make the University, its students and community better every day for the future!"
- Ryan & Kristine B. Class of '94, Class of '95

"In front of us lies a new frontier, a new opportunity, to showcase our best. As we Lead On into the future, we hope you will join us."

- University of Oklahoma Athletics Director Joe Castiglione

"Our legacy is living. It’s something we have inherited, but it’s also something we create in each one of our students – a legacy of possibility  and opportunity that is only realized when hard work meets determination through giving of ourselves for the benefit of the future. Throughout OU’s history, our compass has only pointed in one direction: forward."

- University of Oklahoma President Joseph Harroz, Jr.
